Catherine RICHER

Catherine RICHER is an agricultural engineer with a DEA in agronomy and an MBA in business management and administration. She has served as Head of the INAO territorial delegation for Occitanie since 2016, following several positions at INAO headquarters and across different French regions.
She is currently responsible for implementing the policy on official quality and origin labels within a regional scope which also includes the French overseas departments in the Indian Ocean (notably La Réunion). She is also a member of both the Languedoc-Roussillon Basin Council and the South-West Basin Council.
Throughout her career, she has focused on enhancing and promoting the value of agricultural products by highlighting their specific characteristics.
She now oversees a portfolio of 120 quality and origin designations. Her work is strongly focused on projects for the recognition of new wine and agri-food geographical indications, within a context marked by significant environmental challenges and the increasing impacts of climate change.
