Debele Negash Dagne

Debele Negash Dagne is an Ethiopian Horticulturist, Lecturer and Researcher based in Jimma. He holds MSc and BSc in Horticulture from Jimma University, Ethiopia.
Since October 2015 he has served as a Lecturer and Researcher in the Department of Horticulture and Plant Sciences, Jimma University College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, teaching courses including coffee production and quality control and supervising undergraduate research.
From March 2005 to December 2007 he was Coffee Field Supervisor and Agronomist at Horizon Coffee Plantation (Coffee Plantation Development Enterprise), where he led field and processing-plant operations, provided worker training, and managed coffee quality control.
His professional development includes national and international training in coffee science, value chains and sustainability, including a MAAS internship in the Netherlands (April 2019). He has practical experience in field, controlled-environment and laboratory work and has delivered numerous trainings and capacity-building activities in coffee, fruit and vegetable production in collaboration with projects such as CASCAPE (Capacity building for Scaling-up of evidence based best practices in Agricultural production in Ethiopia) project based at Jimma University, funded by the Netherlands Government , GIZ, IDE( International Development Entrepreneurs), Facilitator for Change and GOPE(Geographical Indications for Origin-Linked Products in Ethiopia)project.
