Guillaume DAVID

Guillaume David is an entomologist and agroecologist at CIRAD based in Montpellier, France. His research focuses on the ecology of pests, biodiversity, and landscapes in coffee production systems, with extensive field experience in East Africa, particularly in Uganda’s Robusta-growing regions.

Combining field ecology, microclimate monitoring, and statistical and spatial analyses, he investigates how landscape structure, shade management, and agroecological practices influence pest dynamics, sustainability, and climate resilience in coffee farming.

As CIRAD’s coffee-sector correspondent, he maintains a cross-cutting overview of the institution’s research activities, spanning genetics and breeding, agroforestry, pest management, coffee quality, and value-chain studies.
