Masakazu HORI

Masakazu Hori is a marine ecologist at the Japan Fisheries Research and Education Agency, with over 20 years’ experience working on coastal fisheries (including aquaculture) and ecosystems. Specializing in seaweed and seagrass beds as blue carbon ecosystems, he has led initiatives demonstrating the functional effects of marine macrophytes on shellfish farming as a climate change countermeasure in Japan. He also serves as a visiting professor at the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology.
