Patrice This

Patrice This is a research director at INRAE at the Occitanie-Montpellier centre within the UMR Genetic Improvement and Plant Adaptation (AGAP Institute) and heads the Grapevine Diversity, Adaptation and Improvement (DAAV) team.
He has been conducting research into the genetic diversity of the grapevine, the genetic basis of traits of interest, and methodologies for plant breeding for over 30 years. He is the author of 118 scientific publications in international journals (H-index: 58).
He was co-coordinator of the Geno-Vigne® UMT from 2008 to 2018 and director of the AGAP UMR from 2015 to 2020. He co-coordinates the ‘Vinid’Occ’ key challenge, a grapevine research project aimed at supporting varietal innovation in the context of climate change and the reduction of plant protection products in Occitanie.
He is scientific co-coordinator of the Grapevine Biological Resource Centre (CRB) at the INRAE experimental unit in Vassal. He is a member of the steering committee of the Vigne et Vin corporate chair at the Institut Agro Foundation, of the scientific and technical committee of IFV and of the PARSADA Plan, of the scientific committee of the CTPS.
